Kells Type Trail is an annual festival celebrating typography as modern art, featuring typographic installations around Kells, Co. Meath. For 2023, the theme was "Connect." As part of the TUS third-year class, Phoebe and I explored what "Connect" meant to us, focusing on how the post connects people and the morbid link between serial killers and their victims’ possessions. This led us to focus on the attraction people have to those who commit horrible crimes.

Over 12 weeks, we created a typographic installation all handmade type and inspired by infamous killers like Son of Sam, the Unabomber, the Zodiac Killer, and BTK, who used the postal system in their crimes. Our obsession with this topic made the creative process fluid, resulting in a series of fan letters projected onto our final piece and a set of eerie postcards for viewers.

Each Piece is Handmade from found objects and craft materials placed in a handmade cubby hold.
